Hi, I’m Ashley.

I’m Ashley Hamm (she/her) and I am a licensed professional counselor helping people like you create a joyful, meaningful life despite the impacts of high-control religion and the uncertainty of climate change.

I can help you clarify what’s important to you, move through guilt and anxiety, and create the confident life you always wanted but never felt ready to pursue. The world around you may feel chaotic, but together we can uncover your inner resources to navigate a fearful world.

We’ll work together in a confidential space either in my online practice or at my Houston office to build clarity and identify your next steps.  Schedule an introductory call if you’re ready to get started:

All of you is welcome here.

Certain topics may have been off limits in your family or religious community – but not here.

Many high control religions emphasize rigid adherence to standards and rules that are harmful to your mental health.  You may have felt pressure to look a certain way, pursue a certain type of relationship, or deny your sexual feelings and preferences.

These rigid rules are often rooted in homophobia, fatphobia, misogyny, racism, and more – harmful systems that if turned inward can create a lot of pain.  We will work together to unlearn these harmful beliefs and help you embrace who you are under the pressure to conform and suppress.

Our work together will be:

  • LGBTQIA+ affirming
  • Intersectional feminist
  • Neurodiversity affirming
  • Anti-hustle culture
  • Affirming of all body sizes
  • Honoring of climate grief and anxiety
